Moroccan Burgers
Summer is the perfect time to make more burgers, and I have been looking for different ways to prepare grass fed ground beef, which is the most affordable cut of grass fed meat. I decided to combine one of my favorites, the delicious seasonings of Morocco with beef for an interesting patty combination. The smoky cumin and cinnamon give a taste that’s intriguing and cayenne adds a bit of heat. I served this with a cucumber yogurt sauce and a big salad. If you eat bread, you might serve this on English muffins or pita bread for a sturdy bun. I will be trying other different seasonings for burgers soon.
Moroccan Burgers
1 lb. ground beef or lamb
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 T cilantro, chopped
1/2 t cumin
1/4 t cinnamon
1/4 t cayenne pepper
2 T tomato paste
salt to taste
Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl and mix well to make sure you don’t have seasonings that clump up. Grill or panfry until desired doneness.
Yogurt Sauce
1 cup Greek yogurt
1/2 cup thinly sliced cucumber
1 clove garlic minced
2 T fresh mint leaves, minced
1 T lemon juice
Combine all ingredients in a small bowl, serve as a dipping sauce or topping for the burgers.

Sounds really yummy!
Sherry, Brenda, I really enjoyed this, sort of a change from just plain salt and pepper. Thanks for stopping by.

Hi Sarah, will try to stop by. Thanks for visiting!
I am in love with this recipe. I think the kids might find it a little spicy, but I am willing to try as it looks soooo good. I just love anything with cumin in it. Thanks for sharing this recipe at Monday Mania!
Hi Sarah, glad you like it. You can cut down the spices (especially the hot pepper) for the kids, still good. Thanks for hosting.
These sound wonderful! I love all kinds of burgers and I think I’ll make these using the lamb. Great recipe, thank you for sharing!!
What a delicious falvor combo – I’d love to try these! Thanks for sharing!
Brenda, the spices work well for beef, but this is really well suited for lamb. I would make lamb burgers more often if it were easier and less costly to obtain.
zentMRS, something about cumin and lamb, mmm! Thanks for visiting.
