Sherry, I started preparing it with the breast side down to ensure this was fully cooked. I usually leave it half an hour longer past when I test it for doneness. Fortunately, in a crockpot, it is harder to overcook.

This sounds absolutely scrumptious! I had done a whole chicken in crockpot several months ago and it was just falling off bone then come to find out it isn’t safe. I was so sad, but didn’t want to get anyone sick.

SnoWhite, I never fix chicken in the oven anymore; and I don’t miss having to clean the oven either!

angie, I think my crockpot is my favorite appliance. Can’t believe I didn’t start using it until a few years back.
